Summer is here! Longue Vue’s Summer ‘Scapes 2025 camp is a space for kids ages 5-10 to learn, explore, and play! Each week offers unique surprises including fascinating presentations from expert guest speakers, waterplay day and our Fun Friday Extravaganza! There’s always something extraordinary happening at Summer 'Scapes!
Camp tuition is $325/week for members, Emma level and above, and $350/week for the general public. Aftercare is an additional $100/week and is available until 4PM. Membership must be active at time of purchase and time of program to receive discounted registration. Camp is non-refundable, but your reservation can be transferred to a different week if capacity allows.
All campers must be 5 years of age by the start of any weeks registered for camp, no exceptions. We reserve the right to ask for proof of age prior to and during camp. No refunds will be issued and you will be contacted to pick up your child. In addition to being at least 5 years old, campers must be fully potty-trained and independent in the restroom.
This summer, camp will run in 8 one-week sessions:
Session I: June 2 - June 6: Young Entomologists Camp:
Calling all bug lovers! Campers will participate in crafts and lessons that focus on the different types of creepy crawlers that make up our daily lives and how necessary they are to the environment.
Session II: June 9 - June 13: Under the Sea Camp:
Ever wondered what goes on in the deep blue sea? Campers will explore the intricacies of marine life and environments with engaging lessons, hands on crafting, and ocean themed activities.
Session III: June 16 - June 20: Eco Heroes Camp:
The planet is in trouble? Looks like a job for Eco Heroes! Campers will have a unique opportunity to engage with nature and brainstorm strategies to protect the environment in our beautiful gardens!
Session IV: June 23 - June 27: Seedling Society Camp:
Congratulations! You have been selected to join Longue Vue’s esteemed society of accomplished gardeners and horticulturists. Should they accept the invitation, campers will uncover the secrets behind planting, growing, and harvesting plants.
Session V: July 7 - July 11: Flora & Fauna of NOLA Camp:
Explore the beauty of Longue Vue at Flora and Fauna camp! Campers will be able to take a deep dive into the wonders of our 8-acre garden and engage in hands-on workshops with crafts focusing on the plants and animals native to Louisiana.
Session VI: July 14 - July 18: Art-chitecture Camp:
Calling all art and design enthusiasts! Campers will discover the unique design principles employed by Longue Vue’s own landscape architect and interior designer Ellen Biddle Shipman and apply them to their own creative projects and crafts.
Session VII: July 21 - July 25: Outer Space Camp:
Greetings Space Rangers! It is time to take flight and learn about the wonders of outer space! Campers will learn about the solar system, constellations, black holes, and everything there is to know about space.
Session VIII: July 28 - August 1: Leaf & Light Theatre Camp:
To leaf or not to leaf, that is the question! Welcome all lovers of theatre! Campers will spend each day creating a garden related play which they will showcase at the end of the week to family and friends.
